Nicole Hill
UI/UX Designer & Digital Communicator
I design and build digital products end to end: research, interface, and the code that ships it. Formerly a Division I softball player, I bring the same reps-and-fundamentals discipline to design systems.
Built for the fundamentals.
It started with fixing computers in grade school and shooting photos just to see how things worked. A few years on a college softball infield added discipline: read the play before it happens, make the small adjustment before it becomes the bigger mistake. Design runs on the same instinct.
Off the clock, I'm planning the last-minute hike, the new trail, the flight nobody's booked yet. If I say I'm going to do something, it gets done, deadline or trail run alike.
Today I split my time between UI/UX & Growth at a recruiting tech startup and Outbound Design, my own studio for sports and outdoor recreation brands.
Designing the UX for an athlete recruiting platform.
Turning user data into product decisions.
Building brand and web work for outdoor brands.
Studied tech, communication, and advertising.
Grew up in San Diego, back home after Texas.

Crocheting my own pieces
First ever marathon
Beyond design work, this is where I recharge: paddleboarding on mountain lakes, crocheting my own pieces, chasing a finish line, and still making time to show up for my community. Different scoreboard, same driven-to-follow-through energy.
What's in motion.
There's always something new I'm trying to learn, and usually a project to learn it through.
UI for Portfolio Templates
Building the UI for the sports portfolio templates we're selling.
Growing the Studio
My own agency, taking on web and brand identity work for sports and outdoor recreation brands.
The Next Big Idea
With GGI, there's room to try the big idea first and figure out the rest along the way.
The starting lineup.
Four projects, four positions: design, development, research, and brand, each played end to end.
Reps, not guesses.
Understand the play
Talk to users, read the data, know the constraints before touching a single pixel.
Design in reps
Fast, rough iterations in Figma, tested against real content instead of lorem ipsum.
Ship real code
I build what I design, so there's no handoff gap between the mockup and what actually goes live.
